Welcome to Redwood Psychology

Every child has a unique combination of strengths, needs and experiences. At Redwood Psychology, I believe that change begins with understanding the whole child, not simply identifying what they find difficult, but recognising what they can do, what motivates them, and the factors that influence their learning, development and wellbeing.

I'm Dr Abigail Wicks, a Chartered Child and Educational Psychologist and Fellow of the British Psychological Society, with over 15 years' experience working with children, young people, families and schools.

I provide independent psychological assessment and consultation for parents and schools. By developing a clear psychological understanding of each child, I help make sense of how they learn, develop and experience the world, translating this into practical, evidence-informed recommendations that are tailored to the child, their family and their educational setting.

My aim is to provide more than an assessment report. Through a shared psychological understanding of the child, I aim to help parents and schools feel confident in how best to support them, with practical, evidence-informed strategies that promote meaningful, lasting change.
